Masons on a Mission works with Emily Webb of the Calacyria Foundation, an American non profit, to fund and build vented cookstoves in villages around Lake Atitlan in Guatemala.
There are a number of ways in which you can help. What we need the most is money. The more money donated, the more stoves that get built. Each stove costs us $150 for the cost of materials and the masons pay, so all of that money goes into their local economy.
We are an international group of volunteers, some with masonry experience, and some without. We spend one week a year building estufas in Guatemala and the rest of the year fundraising and spreading awareness about this life-changing project.
Coming soon are some personal stories about how our stoves have changed peoples lives in rural Guatemala.
